Draft notes of the Annual Parish Meeting of Bracebridge Heath held on Tuesday 3rd March 2020 in Bracebridge Heath Village Hall at 7pm. 

Present: Cllr Kilcoyne chaired the meeting, 
Clerk to Council Mrs S Knowles & Assistant Clerk to Council Mrs R Fraser were in attendance.
16 members of the public were present.

The chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.

1. Apologies for absence – Apologies for absence were received from Cllr Walker and Cllr Cawrey.

2. To confirm the minutes of the previous meeting – 5th March 2019 - The minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting, held on Tuesday 5th March 2019 were accepted as a true record and signed by the chairman.

3. To receive a report from the Chairman of the Parish Council – A written report had been submitted by Cllr Kilcoyne. An overview of Council activities over the last year was given.

4. To receive parish council reports

  • Amenities committee – A written report had been submitted. Cllr Trought reported on the work of the committee.
  • Environment committee – A written report had been submitted. Cllr Manders reported on the work of the committee.
  • Finance & Policy committee – A written report had been submitted.
  • Neighbourhood Plan sub-committee – A written report had been submitted. The clerk to council gave a verbal summary.

5. To receive a report from Lincolnshire County Councillor - Cllr Cawrey sent apologies for the meeting. No report was received.

6. To receive reports from District Councillors – Cllr Cawrey sent apologies for the meeting. No reports were received.

7. To receive reports from village organisations - Written reports were received in advance from community groups. Further comments were made by representatives as recorded.

  • Mrs Shaw gave a verbal report from the Allotment Holders Association.
  • Rev Bell gave a verbal report from St John the Evangelist Church.
  • Mrs Manders gave a verbal report from St John's Primary Academy.
  • The clerk to council read a report on behalf of the 1st Bracebridge Heath Brownies.
  • Sonia Leightley, Waddington and Cliff Village Branch co-ordinator for the British Legion Poppy Appeal introduced herself to the meeting.

Thanks were given to the Women’s Institute for providing refreshments and assisting at the meeting.

8. To thank community volunteers and receive volunteer reports – Thanks and appreciation was given to the volunteers who assisted with the road closures for Remembrance Sunday in 2019.

Alison Peden, Volunteer Co-ordinator for Bracebridge Heath Community Library, gave a verbal report on the work of the library and its volunteers. Community Library volunteers were congratulated on winning a Community Champions award from North Kesteven District Council in October 2019.

9. Questions or points raised by residents and members of the public – Nil

The chairman thanked everyone present for their attendance and reports and informed them that a meeting of the parish council would immediately follow. 

There being no further business the meeting was closed at 19.38.
