Nationwide mourning of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh

From the Chairman of Bracebridge Heath Parish Council, Cllr Jordan Moran

"On behalf of Bracebridge Heath Parish Council, I would like to make known our profound sadness in hearing of the passing of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and steadfast husband, consort and companion to Her Majesty the Queen. Alongside all corners of our nation and the world, we send our condolences to the Queen and Royal Family, as well as respects for his life of dedicated public service.

"His Royal Highness was a stalwart champion of our island nation, both at home and overseas and an inspiration to millions, be it through the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, the Armed Forces, or one of the myraid causes and projects he sponsored and supported in well over half a century of commitment to Queen and country.

"To pay our respects, the Council's Committee Chairmen and I will lead a period of silence at the beginning of all forthcoming meetings up to and including the Parish Council meeting on the 4th May."

This Council will work with local and national organisations and agencies to ensure appropriate, proportionate and dignified arrangements are in place at this time of national mourning.
