Remembrance Sunday events in Bracebridge Heath - 14th November 2021

Together with Rev Jacqueline Bell, the Parish Council has been considering the plans for Remembrance Sunday in 2021. For reasons of safety and concern for our more vulnerable residents, St John’s Church is continuing with restrictions of capacity in the Church. The restriction on numbers means that St John’s Church would not be able to accommodate the usual congregation expected for a Remembrance Sunday. To ensure that the service remains open to as many residents as possible, it has been agreed to hold it outside within the Cemetery of the Former St John’s Hospital.

We do not intend to hold a Remembrance Parade this year, for the same reasons of safety but we do encourage residents, local groups and organisations to place a wreath at the War Memorial at a time of their choosing. Whilst it may be disappointing to residents that we cannot return to the normal service and parade, we hope that the arrangements this year still allow residents the opportunity to remember those who have given service and sacrifice to our country.

Please join us at the St John’s Hospital Cemetery on Sunday 14th November 2021 at 10.30am. As we are outside, please remember to dress appropriately
