Terms of Reference – Events Working Group
Membership |
The working group will consist of up to 5 members which must include the Clerk/RFO and Deputy Clerk and at least one councillor. Up to two other councillors may join the working party. Working Group Members will be appointed every year at the Annual Parish Council Meeting and periodically thereafter should resignations occur. |
Primary purpose |
To support community engagement through council led events. To generate ideas for parish council events To consider arrangements for all aspects of parish council events To liaise with other community groups and organisations about village events |
Meetings | As required. Meetings are relatively informal and do not need to be held in public or called in accordance with Standing Orders (3 clear days’ notice). However, a record of the meeting content and actions will be made and shared with the full council. |
Budget responsibility | None |
Quorum | A minimum of one officer and one councillor. |
Accountability | The working group is fully accountable to the Full Council |
Review arrangements |
The appointment of the committee will be considered at the Annual Meeting of Parish Council. In accordance with Standing Orders, the Full Council may decide to alter or dissolve the Working Group. The Full Council will review the Terms of Reference annually at the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council |
Responsibilities | Working Groups do not have the power to make decisions or spend money, instead they work in a purely task-based or advisory role, as called-upon by the council from time to time. |
