I have lived in our village for sixty years. I am now retired having spent 36 years working as a teacher and lecturer. I have served Bracebridge Heath as a Parish Councillor since September 1988 and have seen many changes to our village over the years. In 1992 I became the Parish Council Representative on the St John's Primary School's (as it was then) Governing Body, and have since become Chairman of Governors (Trustees) and a Member of St John's Primary Academy. I am a member of St John the Evangelist Church Parochial Church Council where I hold the position of treasurer.

This year (2022-3) I have been elected Chairman of both the Finance and Personnel Committees. I was heavily involved in the production of our village's Neighbourhood Plan and I am proud that the Plan is now recognised as part of the planning regulations for our village.

I have been interested in the history and character of Bracebridge Heath for a number of years which has culminated in me writing a number of documents about Bracebridge Heath including: Character Profile of Bracebridge Heath; The history of St John's Primary Academy and documentation on St John's Hospital's Cemetery. An ongoing project is the development of four Heritage Trails around Bracebridge Heath, the first two are now complete. When I get the chance I hope to delve further into the wonderful history of our village and produce some more information showing its history and development before it is lost or forgotten with the passing of time.
