Minutes - Playing fields, allotments and open spaces committee - 15th April 2019

Minutes of a meeting of the Playing Fields, Allotments & Open Spaces Committee held in Bracebridge Heath Community Library on 15th April 2019 at 19:30

Councillors Present: Cllrs Burley, Fletcher, Kilcoyne, Mrs Walker, Ward (Chairman)
In attendance: Mrs S Knowles – Clerk to Council 
1 member of the public were present

1. To consider apologies for absence and note the reason where appropriate – It was proposed, seconded and Resolved: That apologies be accepted from Cllr Clements.

2. To receive members’ declarations of disclosable pecuniary, non-disclosable pecuniary or non-pecuniary interests in relation to any agenda item – Nil

3. Minutes of the meeting held on 18th February 2019 - It was proposed, seconded and Resolved: That the minutes of the meeting held on 18th February 2019 be approved and signed as a true record by the Chairman.

4. To consider repairs/new equipment – It was reported that a rope on the climbing tower was damaged and required replacement. The clerk to council had arranged for this to be carried out.

5. To consider grass cutting / grounds maintenance – It was requested that the clerk to council ensure that weed and feed treatment of the grass at the recreation ground is carried out.
a) To consider quotations for tree works – Only one quotation had been received so far. This item was referred to the next meeting of the Environment committee or full council.

6. To consider the allotments – The clerk reported that only one plot remained vacant.

7. To consider the recreation ground – A verbal report was given on waste disposal at the recreation ground. It was requested that the clerk to council investigate options for the disposal of litter picking waste.
a) To consider CCTV and lighting at the recreation ground – A verbal report was given on the safety and removal of the CCTV columns at the recreation ground. Quotes would be obtained to replace the columns, damaged lighting and cameras.

8. To consider street furniture – litter bins, dog waste bins and seating- It was a reported that the dog bin at Worcester Close was regularly overflowing.

9. To consider the bowling green – Correspondence had been received from the Bowls Club regarding possible closure of the club. Future use of the facility was discussed.

10. To review and consider committee expenditure – The budget was considered. No concerns raised.

11. Items for the agenda of the next committee meeting – Cost of facility hire.
